Ever since he learned the meaning of "spare time" Joe has been hanging around athletes. A veteran of soccer officiating, Joe first stepped on a pitch in 1997. His referee career spans youth, amateur, collegiate and professional matches, including MLS exhibitions, MLS Reserve League and the NCAA tournament. A life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Joe put his passion to paper (er, electronic paper) by founding Steel City Underground, a blog and podcast dedicated to his favorite team. Joe is also a current contributor to Behind the Steel Curtain, the largest Steelers fan community on the internet. When he's not blogging, podcasting or involved with that "other football," Joe spends his time as the head of a house divided: his wife is a Browns fan. Good thing his little girl is only interested with Disney Princesses (for now.)
