Grappler type fighters always think they're being disrespected by the UFC
Because knockouts sell fights. Laying on top of a guy for ten minutes not so much. Corey’s last fight was a spectacular KO. Now he’s a headliner.
It might not be fair but a KO jumps you up in the ranks twice as fast as a decision. If Corey wins by hard fought decision, I predict a Reyes vs Jones rematch. If Corey wins by knockout he’ll probably get that Jones fight.

Boxing has the 10 point must much more clearly defined
MMA has never been totally sure how to score under this system — in boxing a knockdown counts as a point every time. 10-8 rounds are super common. Even 10-7 if there is a two knockdown round.
If you look at Reyes vs Jones round 1 (most dominant round in the fight by either fighter) and round 3 (the most competitive round) have exactly the same score 10-9. That doesn’t make sense!
Most of us feel Reyes won the fight because he had the most dominant round and arguably won three rounds. But because MMA judges rarely score 10-8 rounds it becomes hazy who wins.
The half point system could help. Or if they just made it more clear what things cause additional point deduction such as a flash knockdown from strikes, two minute plus of top control, certain near submissions.
It’s complicated but the current system needs more room for rewarding dominant rounds in my opinion. Too many 10-9, not enough 10-8, or even 10-7.

It certainly doesn't make sense
If a wrestler tries for seven takedowns, gets two but the opponent gets right back to his feet — but you give the wrestler points somehow? Why not then award the striker for the four out of five minutes the fight was kept on the feet?
I’m not speaking hear exclusively to the Reyes vs Jones fight but just a biased in MMA scoring towards wrestlers. The grappler should have to keep his opponent down for thirty seconds and or inflicts damage before points are given I feel.

Personelly I think Jon looks in great shape for this one.
I actually think he’s taking this fight very seriously. Don’t know if it’s the trash talk as much as the punching power of Reyes. Jon knows at the very least Reyes has a punchers chasce. When Jon feels threatened, he’s a savage. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a scary performance.
On another note, does Jon always have that bump on his stomach? Could it be staff or something else?
