My question from last night is
was it coaching that got them down 17 in the first half, or was it coaching that got them back in position to win in the 2nd half. Also, I’m glad Smith’s shot didn’t go in last night, because they would’ve reviewed it and found that his foot was on the line. That would’ve sucked and been a microcosm of the whole season.

I think Keatts is not the problem.
He’s actually a pretty good coach, if you look at it realistically, considering the NCAA issues we had. The problem is they have a huge hole at the 5 that has been exploited all season, particularly when Gibson comes in. Honestly that’s the difference between this team winning and losing these close games. Teams know that when they need a bucket, they can go down low. Now I will say depth at the front line has been an issue for Keatts, and if you want to blame him for that, then I get it. But he’s doing a slow build here at State and I think it has been long overdue, to be honest.
I get that
But don’t forget Seabron is in his 3rd year in the program, 2nd year playing. Guys with that type of tenure in college probably need to be a little further along in their development than Seabron is. He’s great driver, and transition guy, but he needs to have ay least a semi-consistent jumper. I could easily see him slipping into the 2nd round, just because NBA scouts will normally take the freshman with potential over the 3rd/4th year guy with potential.

I hate Ross couldn't go.
In order to win, I thought he would’ve had to be a major piece. Guys fought though. Just Duke is way better. And there is a severe dropoff when Gibson comes in.

Ross= More playing time
I don’t know about y’all, but I like Ross way more than Gibson and a little better than Ebe. He fits the chaotic pressing style defense Keatts wants to run. Though Ross doesn’t have the body to bang with bigger guys, he does have the athleticism to cause disruption on defense. I also think he has the quickness off the pick and roll to get open in the paint a little more than Ebe and Gibson. His roll game, and basket-to-basket running is the best out of the big men we have. I thought there were some opportunities where the guards could’ve lobbed it to him for easy buckets. Maybe that will come with time. But, he was the difference in the VT and Louisville games. I don’t understand why he didn’t play vs. Clemson. I might’ve missed something with that decision making by Keatts in that regard. But, I’m not ready to count this team out yet. Keatts is still a very good game-to-game coach that pushes the right buttons on his teams as the season goes along. I think they may actually make it a little interesting down the stretch in February/March. Whether that ends with a surprise NCAA appearance, I don’t know. It just sucks that the conference is bad, and we loss that Purdue game.

Who's going to be the first to update the wikipedia for the 2021 NC State Football Season to 10-3?
I'm good with it. Though it does make me want to schedule UCLA in one of those Labor Day preseason kickoff games.
Beating Carolina in the way we did was more than enough for me. And, with more time it will be enough for those players and coaches as well. Feel bad for the fans that wasted money on tickets and flights. Or, the little kids that had their heart set on seeing the Pack. Can’t get that back, but that’s the uncertainties of the world right now.
