Cristian has changed the conversation with his play
It has been gratifying to see the acerbic conversation over and Stars and Stripes switch from unreasoned derogatory comments about Cristian as a player to grudging respect that he is a valuable part of the team. I love that Cristian managed to do this by making the most of his chances on the pitch and also clearly being a team player. Not a lot of hero ball from our guy, just good solid play.

quality of team and quality of players at a given position vary widely within leagues. Just looking at leagues is similar to hiring based on where someone went to college. Sure, the people that go to Harvard tend to be pretty smart and get good training, but your evaluation shouldn’t stop there, nor should you assume graduates from the local school are inherently inferior.
Players not Leagues
If you are saying we should evaluate the players regardless of their league, then I am all for it.
I want you to track me
I think there would be some really interesting data that you could report on if you tracked individual responses. For example we all have our favorites, so spotting games when that hierarchy changes would be interesting. Also, some respondents just rate higher than others, so it would be interesting to normalize based on that. Ok, I admit I have some nerd in me.
