Meh he was always a 205er before PFL
I’m surprised he’s not dropping back down. My guess he he struggles against big guys and drops down to 205 again later

To me Jiri Prochazka was a much bigger singing from RIZIN
And they still haven’t booked him a fight. Weird that we heard nothing about Lins even being a free agent or recovered from his injury and suddenly he’s signed and has a fight already

My read on this is the UFC deals with this sort of thing elsewhere as well
They don’t change anything just because the commission changes. They are going to make their fighters go thru the usual stuff regardless of the rules of a specific commission.
It’s the same with the judging criteria. Even though the broadcast team makes a big deal of whether or not a given state has adopted the unified rules, the judges are the same guys wherever they go (with a few local exceptions each card). The regulars don’t change how they judge a fight depending on what state they are in. The UFC recommends them to provide that consistency.

At least Jo Jo is on a 1 fight win streak
One fight better than Romero and Aldo

PFL clearly isn't in the Godfather 3 stage yet
They are still in the "sending people back to Italy for a few years while things cool off" stage

Never say never
I remember when they announced TJ Dillashaw versus Renan Barao and we had the exact same commend section of RIP TJ

No minimum
They can score a 5 second round. It’s typically a 10-10

I got you
Once it’s determined illegal the judgement call made by the ref is whether or not it was intentional. It’s a DQ if yes and if no he can take a point and let it go to the score cards because a majority of the fight has taken place. (2 of 3 rounds). The judges would actually score the third round as a partial round

If you think Round 2 was closer than Round 3
then you have a different method of scoring fights all together and shouldn’t be participating in this argument at all.

Great, so Reyes is champion now?
Wait, but Thiago Santos didn’t beat Jones either so he’s probably champ until he comes back from injury and defends his belt.

I feel like the 2nd round going to Jones was an example of subconscious bias
It’s difficult after a dominant champion loses the first round to not look for reasons to even things up in the second.
Obviously it’s something a judge should be able to avoid at this level, but it can happen under pressure.
Once it happens, then it’s a domino effect because knowing the second was close might impact how you view the closeness of the third.
I’m okay with scoring the third for Jones so I was fine with the decision. But I don’t agree with how the second round was scored. Should have gone to Reyes due to the volume and pressure of his attacks. Reyes lost the Agression battle in round 3. That’s the difference between the rounds and what opens round 3 up for scoring it to Jones

The judges themselves don’t touch the official scorecard
It’s the scorekeeper who sits at the Commissioners table who takes each of the judges score cards round by round and enters them in summation. That score keeper may sometimes be typing those results

The thing about mmadecisions.com is they only track the top few promotions
This judge likely stays busy with smaller shows. But the point stands that his big show experience is lacking

If they had monitors then they basically look like a small tablet
And when you look down at them it looks like you are looking at the ground. I hope that’s what was going on.

Most likely 1000 for a UFC show
Bellator is usually 800
PFL and Glory 500
Other Regional shows 300

Can we also include that for 2 of those 3 recent title shots
He missed weight and couldn’t win the title even in victory

It’s a conditional atom weight title not fly
I think thru should love atom weight to 108 lbs like they do in RIZIN

I don’t share your criticism of the PPV portion of this card
They are all fights I want to watch and 2 title fights at the top. I definitely would have been on board if this same article was written about the McGregor vs Cerrone PPV. This is much much better.

A quick check of mmadecisions shows that
100% of the media and damn near 90% of fans agreed that Volkanovski won. Can’t we just reserve the immediate rematch for the close ones and keep the divisions moving?
