Do go on
I’m genuinely interested in how you arrived at that conclusion.

He also got free reign in the lane.
Pretty much spent half the shot clock or more in the lane on every possession.

In the Premier League they do.
Michy has more appearances but Giroud has played 213 minutes in the Prem to Michy’s 208.

Correction to my previous response
Your original comment was the second time you’ve ever mentioned anything about Lady Bears basketball. The first time (nearly 4 years ago) was essentially a carbon copy of the comment you made this morning, berating the ODB writers for their lack of coverage on women’s sports and subtly (relatively speaking) implying misogyny/sexism as a root cause.

Dude, come on.
Any GK that had maintained proper positioning and awareness would have stopped that shot. It wasn’t a 1v1, or a deflected shot, or a knuckle-ball, or a missile from distance. It was curving, sure, but it was near post and would’ve been a relatively straightforward parry with little ground to cover had Willy been in the right spot. Instead he was caught out of position and flat-footed. And while we’re on the topic of "understandable goals", how many of Kepa’s conceded goals could be argued were great plays/shots that no keeper would have stopped?
Look, I get that you’ve had it with Kepa, and it’s understandable that you feel that way. And I agree that there’s a small sample size to judge Willy on, but you can’t prop him up as being infallible between the sticks when there’s a number of examples to prove that he’s got deficiencies in his game just like Kepa.

He also stated Willy hasn't made a mistake that led to a goal.
Which, as @Martinez#47 pointed out, is categorically false.

Semantics aside, my point still stands.
Release clauses, in general, are typically set above market value in order to protect the club should a suitor decide to pay it. So you’re correct in saying that Kepa’s price tag didn’t skyrocket as a result of our desperation — it had already peaked due to the nature and intent of release clauses. For Chelsea, supply was low and demand was high. If they hadn’t paid Kepa’s release clause, they would’ve had to pay a similar amount for what they deemed a starting-caliber GK to some other club.
