And I consider
your knowledge on CBB, or frankly all topics, to be without ever giving any information or facts. You use your opinion to then belittle anyone and everyone that doesn’t have the same opinion as you. I put up with it when 90% of people on here don’t because I recognize that from time to time you do have a valid point hidden behind your narcissistic slights and insults.
You can insult my CBB knowledge or frankly any of my knowledge, but the truth is that I’m spot on with most of it and I could go back and prove it over and over. However, I don’t need praise from you or anyone else on here and I loath when I constantly see fans say "hey looked I called such and such" cause really at the end of the day we are all guessing, some with more information/knowledge and some with less. Even those that get paid full time for this look like fools from time to time.
Your problem is that you only ever cherry pick one line and then ignore all other facts given and you do this ALL THE F***ING TIME! Let’s look at your last ones here "Maryland – doesn’t look like a team on the rise"
So insightful!!! Thank you"
So you pick one team out of 14! that I don’t give any extra information on or knowledge. Hmm I wonder why that is? well perhaps because Maryland had a horrid year last year. They fired Turgeon half way through the season. They have a recruiting ranking for this year (which I gave btw) of N/A meaning that they aren’t bringing anyone of note in. And they are having guys transfer out while not currently bringing any major transfers in. Currently their basketball program is in a mess and since both you and 8pts already think my post was "long winded" I didn’t deem it necessary to give such an in depth break down of a team that anyone with even half a glance at this past season would know is in complete rebuild mode.
Please do respond team by team. Please show me how the B1G is looking like one of the top conferences next year. I would love for you to prove to me how my take that "it will be helpful for Michigan to have extra quality wins/games in the nonconference season next year will be important because the B1G won’t be as strong as it has been these past two season" is incorrect.
For your other BS, I’d have to go back and check our 500 or worse record, but pretty sure that came to pass except well Michigan got the #1 seed if we are talking about the 2020-201 or if it was the 2019-2020 season well we are in a bit of a bind aren’t we? As for the Liam discussion I never said the kid is an incredible player. I said he does things well in college basketball. Not sure what you want from me. I never made him into a first team B1G player nor did I say he will dominate. The only thing I ever said is that he has nice tools for the college game.
Whatever man, if you want to have an actual conversation with credible insight and information then please do. But if you just want to call my "takes" superficial guesses while whatever your opinions are, are held to be god’s gift to man with nothing to back it up but your own arrogance and narcissistic opinions then no thanks I’m out. Honestly talking with you too often feels like a conversation with Skip Bayless.

It's not the same
acting like every team has turnover. They aren’t all equal which has been clearly demonstrated in my post above
And so far you have either picked a fight with or insulted me on every post this past two days. None of which I have done towards you. I don’t mind engaging and I don’t mind a discussion even when it doesn’t lead anywhere. But when you act like you have on every post it sure doesn’t feel "fun and enjoyable" and thus a waste of time for me.

clearly you didn't read it
As I don’t claim Michigan to win the B1G or to be without questions as stated above and I credit MSU as having a strong squad, but whatever.
Don’t asked to be informed then be given the information only to ignore it. Don’t worry if you are going to act like a child and choose to criticize with no context or rebuttal to facts then have a good evening. No need to waste time with these type of chats

Not trying to
just thought that if your opinion was, the B1G having a bad conference record, as my words. Then well that doesn’t make any sense as how can a conference have a bad record within itself? Was just checking that it wasn’t a stupid little mistake that we were having.
It isn’t just Rutgers and Minn though. I had a lot more but thought you wouldn’t care for it all. But since you asked:
2021 B1G recruiting rankings are UM 3, MSU 12, Neb 18, Illi 24, UW 33, NW 37, IU 39, PU 40, MD 45, OSU 49, IA 69, Minn 96, RU 100, PSU N/A
2022 OSU 5, IU 7, UM 8, Illi 9, PSU 23, PU 28, Neb 30, MSU 32, Minn 39, IA 47, RU 69, NW 108, UW 109, MD N/A
Illinois – losing at least 5 starters perhaps more. https://www.wcia.com/sports/your-illini-nation/new-look-roster-on-the-way-for-illini-basketball/
Indiana – losing their best player. They have kept some key pieces but are a question mark at best
Iowa – is having a massive overhaul https://www.goiowaawesome.com/iowa-hawkeyes-basketball/2022/04/5856/2022-23-iowa-mens-basketball-whos-back
Maryland – doesn’t look like a team on the rise
Michigan – perhaps the best team in the B1G. That could be good or it could be bad. This team needs to gel and until we see them it remains potential
MSU – has some nice pieces, but doesn’t look like any dynamic players that I would be scare of, still though a decent team at worst
Minnesota – doesn’t seem to have improved much at all from last years squad
Nebraska – seems to have some talented pieces but so far have looked horrid the first few months of each season
Northwestern – lost Nance and doesn’t seem to have much to replace him with
OSU – losing some key pieces in Branham and Liddell. Most see this as a rebuild year in Columbus with potential to surprise. https://www.landgrantholyland.com/2022/4/6/23011982/ohio-state-mens-basketball-reload-with-transfers-this-offseason-osu-buckeyes-2022
PSU – Has gotten people to stick around for another season, but at best they are hoping to make an NCAA appearance not be a B1G contender
Purdue – Is getting Eddy back but otherwise the whole roster is in complete overhaul https://www.hammerandrails.com/2022/3/28/22999701/purdue-basketball-returnees-transfer-names-to-watch
Rutgers – Haper looks gone for sure and Jones/McConnell could be gone. Either way they aren’t making the league stronger
Wisconsin – lost it’s two best players and seems poised to take a step back. https://badgerswire.usatoday.com/2022/04/25/see-where-wisconsin-basketball-lands-in-andy-katz-power-36/
Basically outside of Michigan and Michigan State it’s hard to argue that any B1G team will be in better shape next year. Indiana might take a step forward and be a quality team. The rest I have 0 confidence in. Again it is a long way from now until tipoff of the 2022 season so I’ll wait until all the chips fall, but from this vantage point, I’m glad Michigan is getting as many quality games they can in the nonconference as their won’t be as many quad 1 teams visiting AA down the stretch like this past year.

nope it's perfectly clear
and yeah don’t disagree at any point of your assessment yo Dickinson or his basketball future.
The only difference is that I was saying, could easily, not easily. That is in contrast to this year which is impossible at worst and extremely unlikely at best. So my post was just putting myself in Dickinson’s shoes. If my dream is to at least be drafted once to an NBA team and get one shot on an NBA team then I’d stay this year, hope to have a great season, and hope that there aren’t too many prospects. If next year seems like to wide a talent pool then stay another year like Luka did last year. He has the luxury to pick his battle with the NBA draft, for a few years at least.
That was my only point.

Don't disagree with that take
though I would rather see him come back. He could be special and I hope he gets to flash it at Michigan next year.

Rutgers
made the NCAA they help bolster the middling games for making up a profile with wins and losses. Minn was more about the year before. Those teams are important when building a resume to make the NCAA.
And it was the B1G to not have a very good nonconference record. You posted conference record. Perhaps that is where the misunderstanding is coming?

Never said
he could easily make it in today’s NBA though.
I understand the NBA game and the direction perfectly. That’s even more of a reason why he can pick and choose his timing when the class is the least talented. So you clearly have taken my comment on choosing wisely to mean getting playing time which anyone with two cents should know isn’t likely in today’s NBA.
However, when I say, "he could easily be drafted next year depending on the class" I don’t get where that isn’t true. They haven’t gotten rid of the the one and done rule yet to my knowledge and this incoming freshmen class hasn’t been stellar from what I have seen. Now that can easily change in one season. But this past year has a good number of freshmen recruits and had a lot of hold overs from the covid year. So even more talent was in the pool for this NBA draft. Thus Dickison is extremely down the board of any options. Next year should have a thinning number of the covid hold overs and again like I said the incoming freshmen class hasn’t stood out on paper.
What other comments are we offsetting?

That's easy
their dream wasn’t to come and play for Michigan. It was to become an NBA player. If a team says we are going to take you AT ALL and that is your dream then it is a dream come true. Doesn’t matter if you or I think it would be better to come back. It is just as easy to develop as a pro as it is in college. If their dream is to be a pro more than it is to be the highest drafted they can be then they are gone.
He has the potential of a pro, but he is clearly nowhere near a pro roster. However, it only takes one team to say hey we believe in you.

It was building for 2 years
The B1G had stellar talent but they had some high turnover at a few positions. Plus teams like Rutgers and Minn both saw a ton of potential leave. All you have to do is look at the projected bracket (which is obviously crazy to do at this time but does show just how weak the B1G will be). The highest projected seed is a 3 and that’s Michigan.
It just is what it is. Obviously everything isn’t finalized yet as the draft hasn’t happened, but from current projections I expect the B1G to be down next year. Why is that so shocking to you?
Comment 1 reply
well you are
100% wrong here
He could easily be drafted next year depending on the class.
Really not that hard to understand. If the class is a weak class then the pool widens. When the class is deep it’s a bad time to leave. This year’s class is extremely deep. Hunter probably wouldn’t even be picked up after the draft. Next year it could easily change.
Not sure what you are struggling to understand

agreed on BJJ
he needs a change of scenery. I hope he does great at VCU and I expect Zeb to be a mid major phenom. Really don’t know why it didn’t work out at Michigan for Zeb. Think there is a lot there that we don’t know from injury complications to his flu to well I don’t want to put wild speculations on things I have no information about. Just think that there is probably more to it all that we don’t know.
Wish them both the best and hope VCU has a special season next year.

couldn't agree more
not to mention that this "2 wins in a row" thing has nothing to do with the 2022-2023 team.
Plus and most importantly, I do not expect the B1G to have a very good nonconference record. The B1G is losing a ton of talent this season and it might not be a very good look to start the B1G slate. Michigan may need all the quad 1 games they can get early in the year as the B1G might not offer as many chances at forgiveness as it did last year for the Wolverines (this last bit was more in reply to Anywindow, but didn’t feel like making two posts).

Raw Potential
I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves. His pure raw potential would have many franchises talking in his ear and we don’t know his full background or how badly his family, and family’s family, needs the money. He is an international kid with parents from Mali and Guinea. Without knowing his full story or the backstory of his parents and their situation it is impossible to say what is best for him.
He will develop with or without being at Michigan, though I would personally love for him to return. His potential to come back and develop into a Koloko would be dynamic, but turning pro and making millions of dollars for your family is something that not everyone can pass up on.
Again I hope he returns and it would be a huge get to the team if he does, but that doesn’t mean it is the best thing for him or his family. That isn’t our call to claim and it is foolish to act like players can’t develop once they leave University. The NBA and their affiliates have great coaches, routines and less demands than a college campus. If a guy has his head on straight and is determined to take advantage of the opportunity, then the NBA route can also be the path to advancing ones potential.

Not too surprising
tbh if he was going to go last year was the time. The reason why is because the draft class last year by comparison wasn’t very strong so his opportunity to get drafted was higher. This year’s class is extremely deep so it makes sense to return. Depending on how things shake out the next season we will see something similar. If the draft class seems pretty limited then I would expect Hunter to declare. If it ends up being deep (which currently doesn’t project to be) then he probably stays for the senior season.
Honestly, Hunter is in a great position to choose to go whichever year will be best for his draft stock. Glad to have him back makes Michigan probably the team to beat in the B1G.
