As a Yank, it has always been pretty hard for me to access the Premier League, until recently, so my affiliation with Everton Football Club is just a few years old. But all my life, I have been an adamant fan of the US National Team, and after the 2006 World Cup I decided I wanted to get heavily into the Premier League. I tried out all the biggest clubs, and I had watched a few Everton highlights before to watch Tim Howard play, but in September, 2006, I sat down to watch the Liverpool derby with a friend who supported Liverpool. Within minutes I had chosen my team. The fight in the Everton side was unlike anything I had seen, and they grew on me unlike any other team I had previously attempted to follow. After an emphatic 3-0 victory, I knew they were my team. As I dug further into the history of the club, I was hooked and never looked back. Nothing has brought me more joy, sorrow, or frustration than this football club, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
