Mayweather vs. Canelo pre-fight scrum: Highlights and interviews from the press conference

Canelo Alvarez displayed a calm demeanor and expressed confidence in his ability to be the first fighter to ever take down Floyd Mayweather. Meanwhile, Floyd was being, well, you know, Floyd.

With the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez looming this Saturday night, SB Nation was on-scene for the pre-fight press conference. In typical Mayweather style, the undefeated face of boxing dismissed his opponent as just another contender. At 42-0-1, however, the Mexican-born Canelo is no walk-over, and expressed a calm confidence during the presser and subsequent interviews.

With Manny Pacquiao having lost his last two fights, Mayweather now stands as the only true superstar left in the struggling sport. A win by Canelo, however, could vault the 23-year-old fighter into the stratosphere of stardom himself, especially among a Mexican fanbase already rabid over his growing success.
