The NBA rule that lets you foul as much as you want

Bonus: It also meant Chris Kaman got to take a nap!

In 2017, Alabama had to finish a game against Minnesota with three players on the floor after numerous ejections and an injury. But the NBA has a rule that’s designed to keep games five on five — and that means, in very specific situations, you can rack up foul after foul and never have to leave the court. It’s happened on a few occasions, including Don Nelson’s last game as a head coach and the Lakers’ game Ryan and Charlotte discuss in this video.

Oh, the saddest thing about that game? THE LAKERS BEAT THE CAVS BY 11. (The Cleveland Mike Brown Experience Version 2.0 was not especially fun.)
