This ridiculous college football game recorded 77 punts

The final score was 0-0.

In 1939, Texas Tech and Centenary played each other in Shreveport, Louisiana during a massive rainstorm. Barely any spectators showed up and the field was soaking wet, but the game was played anyway. Instead of attempting to run the ball through the muddy, torn up field, both teams decided instead to keep punting it back and forth so that they wouldn’t fumble it and give up an easy touchdown to their opponent. So back and forth they punted for four quarters until unsurprisingly the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

It probably sounds like the most boring game ever if you just look at the score, but it must have been hilarious watching both teams slip and slide around the field for a couple hours, punting into the sunset.
