Hulk Hogan announced the Andre Memorial shortly after he was made the host of WrestleMania, and everyone applauded the idea. Battle royals are always really fun and this is an excellent way to get 30 performers WrestleMania appearance checks. Plus, the winner gets a big bronze Andre trophy. This was a good thing and it should actually become annual.
For reasons unbeknownst to anyone, Fandango was allowed to eliminate Intercontinental Champion and assumed future main event star Big E fairly early in this contest. Go ahead and figure that out.
Even though this isn't the Royal Rumble, they still found a way to fit in a signature Kofi Kingston elimination avoidance spot. He was thrown over the top rope by Cesaro and appeared to be eliminated, but landed with his feet on the stairs and was able to simply get up and walk back to the ring. It was cool as always ... but he was later Cesaro swinged and eventually eliminated for his troubles.
The final four were pre-match favorite Big Show, along with Royal Rumble final four member Sheamus, former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro. In case you had any doubts about how strong Cesaro is or how highly he's thought of at the moment, won the match by picking up the 500 pound Big Show, then throwing him straight over the top rope.
Cesaro is a god. Bow in his presence.
